That Craft Place Challenge

Time for another That Craft Place Challenge and the theme is.........

Baby

I've used an older Mo Manning digistamp called Baby and Bunny. I've coloured it with Copics and used a Cameo cut to print him out on. The Cute as a Button is also from the sil store and was cut on my Cameo. Remember Lisa has the Cameo machine and accessories available in her shop here.

The other DT girls have made some really lovely Baby projects , you should go have a peek at them. Hope to see you all join in too.

Papermill Direct Design Team Call Out

Papermill Direct are looking for one maybe two Design Team members. Here is most of the details you need but to enter you will need to go to the link on the Papermill Direct blog.
Here is what they say:
We are looking for a new design team member! (or maybe two!) Our Design team get free card and paper to make regular designs, especially using our special offer card and paper which goes out in our weekly newsletters.
New team members will be given a box of mixed card along with our offer packs of card for each week – we’ll make sure you don’t run out of card and paper!

What do I have to do if I make the Design Team?

We ask that you create a new card each week and write an original blog post on this blog once a month along with sharing our links on your own blog. The blog post doesn’t need to be huge or complicated, it can be a tutorial, review, craft news – just something that will appeal to our readers and get some crafty conversation going (which we like!) We aren’t slave drivers and we’re very flexible, just ask our current DT members.
In order to see your work and pick new design team members we would love you to enter our Autumn themed design challenge.
The Rules of Entry
Share an existing card or create a card or project especially for the challenge using the theme Autumn (let your imagination go wild, lots happens in Autumn!) Then write about the challenge over on your blog linking back to this post. You can use anything to create your card or project as long as it is card based and of course we’d love it if you use our card and tell us which colours you have used.

The Judging!
We will be picking new Design team members based on the following criteria.
Unique Interesting Design (We need designers who’s work is eyecatching)
Attention to the Theme (it’s very broad so will give you lots of scope for an interesting design)
Photography Skills (Sharp bright images only – I’m afraid this is a must to make the team!)
The judges will be the team at the Mill and also we will be asking our current DT members to choose their favourite designs.  We could just send emails out to really popular bloggers asking them if they want to join the team but we hope this way we can find some hidden gems and upcoming designers that we may not find just by googling!
Good luck, we will pick the lucky crafters in two weeks time – looking forward to seeing all the entries and we’ll be sharing them with our own social networks too!
I've been on the team for about 6 months now and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. We have a lovely friendly team and of course there are perks!!

Daylight Lamps

I was lucky enough to be  asked to do a review for Daylight lamps by Papermill Direct. We were given a choice of which lamp we would like.
I chose the

LED Flexilens™ with Base & Clip, Black

PRODUCT CODE DN1161
£29.99
This is one of the products from the StarMag™ range. This is a practical and compact LED and magnifying lamp which is ideal for any craft, art or reading activity. It incorporates a flexible arm for easy adjustment with 2 bright daylight™ LEDs and a large 2.0X magnifier (4 diopter). The unique and adaptable base has a clip for attaching to a table and swing-out legs for freestanding.
  • • Multifunctional LED light with extra large magnifier
  • • 2 Bright daylight™ LEDs with pure white light(uses only 0.32W)
  • • Extra long battery life, up to 40 hours of comfortable light
  • • Large 11cm/4¼" magnifier with 2.0X magnification(4 diopter)
  • • Practical 2.5cm/1" inset lens with 4.0X magnification(12 diopter)
  • • Long 22cm/85/8" flexible arm for precise & easy adjustment
  • • Strong clip to attach to frames, hoops, books & tables up to 3.6cm/13/8" thick
  • • Smart & practical base with swing-out legs for extra stability
  • • Lightweight & compact, easy to take with you
  • • daylight™ LEDs don’t need replacement
  • • Soft fabric pouch included to protect the lens
I received the lamp a few days later and was very pleased with it. All you need to do is find 3 AAA batteries and away you go.
I picked this one because it has a free standing base or you can use the clamp. Ideal for me as I tend to go from my craft room to my living room to design my projects. I can clamp it to my craft desk or leave it free standing in my living room for my Cameo work or for taking photos with my lightbox.
The flexilens was very useful! My eyesight is not the best anymore and I do wear glasses for reading , designing etc. But my eyes do get tired and I can get some blurry vision. The lens helped me with this as with the lamp I wasn't straining my eyes so much. I colour stamped images with Copic pens and this also helped me to keep within the lines and improve my shading.
The lamp also comes with a little soft pocket with drawstrings to cover your lens. This is a good idea to keep those dirty fingermarks off the lens in between usage.
I did loose my lamp for a couple of days due to my husband pinching it for his model making!!! He said he would recommend it too for painting "those fiddly bits" and putting together models.
So all in all a good all rounder for all those crafty projects I think!!
