A New Obsession! Tea Bag Art.

So you know how you browse around Pinterest and then do a double take? That's what I did with this idea and then of course I had to have a go.
So here is my Tea Bag Art. ie: the blank canvas is an actual tea bag!  All the stamps I've used are from the Unity Stamp Company.
The backgrounds have been coloured (for the first two) with Decoart paints and I used Distress Oxide inks for the third one.
So my first is "She". This one is my favourite. I've used various background stamps and the main image is a stamp set called "Broken Look Beautiful".

My second one is "Happy Happy". The main set is a kit called "Happy Happy Joy Joy".

And my third is "One day". I learnt from this one because I didn't apply gesso first and the colours are a bit muddy. This kit is called "What Matters Most".

These kits are ideal for Tbag Art they are just the right size. Now off to find some more!!

Unity Stamps - Drink Wine Feel Fine

Hey there some ladies were asking about how I did the background for this Drink Wine Feel Fine card.

The set is called Drink Wine, Feel Fine and you can find it in the Unity store here. It's currently on sale too at $8!! Usual price is $24 so a real bargain!

                                       Drink Wine Feel Fine

So first of all I stamped the image onto a piece of white card and then masked it.

Next I die cut the larger of these paint splats dies by Sizzix onto a piece of square Kraft card leaving plenty of room around the edges. This way you can use it as a stencil. I find Kraft card a bit more robust for stencils as it doesn't warp or crease up when you are inking over it. I've used washi tape to hold the stencil in place.

Next I randomly used the stencil over the white card and the masked image. I've used Distress Oxide Inks in Faded Jeans and Fossilized Amber.

Notice that I over lapped some of the inking to make the lovely olive colour.

I then unmasked the image and coloured it with Copics but you can use any medium for this.

Next I completely covered a piece of white card with the same oxide inks. Just randomly but again making sure I overlapped them to get the olive colour. I then die cut a few of the coffee marks dies using the inked up card. This die set is again by Sizzix and offers two coffee marks.

I then randomly placed them around the card. I cut into a few to make sure they "fell" over the edges.

And to finish up I added the sentiment and a few sequins.  I then layered the card onto some contrasting coloured card and then onto my blank card.

I hope this helps the ladies who were asking :0)

If you have any questions just ask away here or you can find me on the Facebook Unity Show & Tell page.

Have fun!

Unity Stamps Blog Hop

Time for another Unity Blog Hop and today there are 5 new releases!

I've managed to do 4 samples out of the 5 sets.

First up is Adella Girl. You can find her here in the Unity store. She's on sale at the moment for just $10!
So I've made a mixed media canvas with the set. I had such fun with this one using lots of mediums and textures.

I've used a patterned paper for the background and then built it all up with texture paint and stencils and stamps.

Here's a close up of Adella. I have coloured her hair with copics and added some liquid pearls and highlighted with a white pen. The seahorse and shell has been fussy cut from patterned paper and I've added glossy accents.

I've cut the sentiment up into smaller pieces and edged with ink.

My second project is a card using Daisy Girl. She's here in the store and again she is on sale for just $10. I've coloured the flowers, hair and skin with Copics and then paper pieced her top.

Number three is another card using the Best Girls set. It's here in the Unity store. Another great bargain at just $10. Again skin and hair with Copics and then paper pieced outfits.

And for my fourth project another card. This set is called Drink Wine Feel Fine. And this set is only $8 in the sale. You can find it here. I've coloured the image with copics. The background has been made with stencils and oxide distress inks.

The Unity Design Team have really made some gorgeous projects this time and so many!!
If you would like a chance to win one of two prizes all you need to do is hop!! Leave a comment on each of the DT's blogs, the list is below and of course the Unity blog to finish.
