Creative Expressions DT Project

Time for a new DT Project for Creative Expressions. This time I have designed a card.

First I used the honeycomb mask and deep red texture paste to make a background. The paste takes a little while to set so I put this aside for a while.

When it was dry and rubbed over some pewter gilding wax to take away some of the brightness.

I then clear embossed some of the images off the Posy Floral stamp plate onto black card and cut them out.

To colour the images I used the gilding wax in blush, pewter and deep red.

I've used 3D pads to arrange them along the bottom left of the card.

To add a bit more texture I gold embossed the edges of the card and some of the flowers got a little sprinkle too.

I then stamped the sentiment onto black card using a gold embossing powder.

To finish off I added the sentiment with 3D pads and put this layer of card onto a piece of maroon card and then layered it onto a blank, black card.

Papermill Direct DIY Project Life

I have a new addiction - Project Life!! Project Life is a really simple easy way for you to scrapbook your pictures.
You have an album, photo page protectors, a core kit and your favourite photos. Here's my first pages that I put together. For this one I used a Becky Higgins core kit called Honey.

And then I had the idea of making my own cards. Pretty simple really, all you need is some Papermill Direct card and a die cutting machine, or if you want something really simple you could cut the shapes yourself or use ready made shapes. The cards come in generally two sizes  6x4 or 3x4.

So first I cut out 2, 6x4 cards on my Silhouette Cameo. A plain one using the cream linen and the kite one using the Maroon card. I also cut out the kite die with the same Maroon card.

Pic 1

The title letters were cut in three layers with the same cream and maroon card on my Cameo . I then used a glue pen to layer them all up.

Pic 7

I've then put the title card all together.

Pic 2

Next I've cut out 3 layers of card for the journalling card, the largest one being 6x4 ins. I then cut out the kite shape in maroon.

Layer up the card and then I added the kite shape down the left hand side. This card is for you to journal on. Don’t forget to add the date and location.

                                 Pic 4
Next I wanted some embellishments for the actual photos as they had some quite big plain areas. I cut out some different shaped kites in layers and then an arrow.

                                 Pic 5
I place the title and journalling card in the first and last pockets and then placed my photos. Where I thought it looked a bit bare I glued my kite embellishments. Because I wanted my arrow on several photos I glued it to the actual photo pockets.

Here's my final page.

My card for this week is to let you know that Papermill Direct have an offer on for their

I have used the Dandy Embossed for the lattice background and roses. The image has been printed and coloured onto Papermills super smooth white card.

Onto the image. Isn't she gorgeous? This digistamp is by Wendyburnsdesigns  and you can find lots of her gorgeous images on Etsy here. This particular image is called Sweetie Pie. I've coloured her with my Copics.
Wendy is fairly new to the digistamp world but I know that she has plenty more images in the pipeline, can't wait to see them!!

If you would like to see more of Wendy's work she also has a blog here and a Facebook page here.

Creative Expressions

Today I'd like to show you my Creative Expressions DT project. A little tag in a pocket.

I have embossed both tag and pocket with a "That Special Touch" mask. I've stamped the flowers and sentiment using the Posy Florals 1 stamp plate onto Papermill Direct Kraft card with white embossing powder. They have then been coloured with some Cosmic Acrylic Drawing Inks.

Morning I can finally get back to normal, the kids started back at school today.

Tyrrell starts High School today. Of course I blubbed, my little boy going to school on a bus on his own!!

Robbyn is still at her old school but goes into P6.

So with the kids at school all day it means it's time to get back to the serious task of crafting!!!

Creative Expressions

Finally made it back again!!
So this month we received our DT goodies in the post from Creative Expressions and lol I've used them all on this card. Well I am a Taurus so like a bull in a china shop!!

I took a blank card and place a mask over to where I wanted the sentiment. I then used distress inks to add the colour in the background and then used the green ink with the That Special Touch Honeycomb mask to create a bit of texture. Next I took some sequin waste and inked through some Peacock distress ink.The flowers and the sentiment from the Creative Expressions unmounted Posy Floral 1 set have been stamped in black memento straight onto the card. The flowers were then coloured with a set of Cosmic Shimmer Dazzle Paint. These are great little sets and are just like a nail varnish bottle with a nice thin brush so you can get detail. To finish it all off I added some little white pen dots.

Cya soon :0)
