This week's Creative Expressions Project

Im on a roll this week, my Creative Expressions project is at the start of the week for a change!!

All sorts of things happening on this tag!! I started off with a manila tag and used the uber embossing folder to emboss it,  I then sprayed it with water. I then smooshed it through some spray inks. I stamped and cut out a Art House and dominoes from the Creative Expressions Sam Poole Art House stamp sheet. I coloured them with distress inks and added a white pen highlight. I swiped over the tag with walnut distress ink.

See you next week for another Creative Expressions project.

Creative Expressions Project

This week's project for Creative Expressions is a sort of CAS card. It's using the gorgeous Sam Poole Art Houses and the background ruler stamps.

Here's my card and I've also done a little step by step on how to make it too.

1. Take your white card blank and lay down a piece of sequin waste along the bottom of the card. Using some sponge dab walnut stain and peeled paint distress inks over the holes.

2. Stamp out the house and key from the Art Houses stamp plate  onto white card , cut out and watercolour with worn lipstick and peacock distress inks.

3. Stamp the sentiment with black ink over the spots.

4. Using the ruler background stamp , stamp out a block and then cut up some of them and ink with the distress inks. Tear at one end to make them look like washi tape.

5. Now piece the card together.  I applied the house and key with 3D tabs. The "washi tape" was applied with a wet glue. I used the remaining waste pieces of ruler to attach to the "big" and the side of the house.

I hope my step by step was of some use to you :0)  I'll be back next week with another Creative Expressions project x

Cute Card Thursday

Woah the weeks are going by so fast, seems Thursdays come round so quick!! Soon be Summer :0)

This week's challenge at Cute Card Thursday is....

Simplify

Inks: TH distress inks
Stamps: Kanban
Sentiment: Dylusions - Artful Sayings

I rarely make cards as simple as this and always use patterned papers so this was quite a challenge for me but I quite like how it turned out. I used distress inks to colour the butterflies and I stamped them straight onto the card and then stamped them again on a separate piece of card, but the wings out , coloured them and used a 3D bud to adhere them.

We are sponsored this week by Whimsy Stamps. The DT girls have made some great cards again this week. Please pop over and join in with our challenge. You can find us here.

Creative Expressions

Time to showcase a new set of stamps and embossing folder for Creative Expressions. We had 2 lots of Sam Poole's stamps and a fantastic embossing folder to play with.
The first set of stamps is a plate called  Art Houses , I love this one, the little houses are great. The second stamp plate is a background stamp called Ruler. The embossing folder was fun to use, I haven't used one in a while but it came out great. The folder is called Uber by Couture Creations.

So here is my first project, a card.

Stamps: Sam Poole - Art Houses and Ruler
Embossing folder: Couture Creations - Uber
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Inks

I've watercoloured the houses with the distress inks and also layered up some of the features.

I'll be back next week with another project using Creative Expressions products.

Valentine's box for Cute Card Thursday

Doh I was supposed to show this for my DT project for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge but got over excited and posted it early.
The theme at Cute Card Thursday is

 Love Struck

The prize this week is a £10 gift voucher from Bunny Zoe's Crafts.

Today I have a little Valentine's box to show you. I think I will give one to each of my younger kids with a little message inside.

You could add chocolates, messages, jewellery etc.

I've used Papermill cardstock, this really does cut beautifully on the Cameo and I've never had any trouble with it. The box file is in the Silhouette store by Lori Whitlock. The sentiment is cut from Vinyl and is also in the store and the designer is Kolette Hall. I put  the waste hearts from the box inside with a little tissue paper. I've also inked around the edges with distress ink.

Creative Expressions Project

Here's this week's project for Creative Expressions.

I made a mini canvas. I first sprayed some inks over the canvas and then sprayed with water. I let the first layer dry and then reinked. The sentiment says "It just takes a small act of kindness to make a difference in someone's life". I embossed it with gold powder. Its been stamped on acetate. The sentiment is from the unmounted Special Sentiments plate. I also used the gold embossing to stamp some hearts along the bottom right hand side. They are from the unmounted Heart Entwined plate. The two big hearts are also from the same plate and are embossed with white embossing powder.

I'll show you another project next week.
