Creative Expressions DT post

Friday again and it's time for me to show you my weekly Creative Expressions DT post. This month we are working with two new stamp plates and today I'd like to show you a project I made with the "If the crown fits" plate.

Firstly I went over the whole tag with TH distress ink in Peacock Feathers and then I spritzed the tag with a Dylusions spray ink. I then splattered some water over to give it some texture. I then stamped out the border stamp in black ink along the right hand side. I stamped two of the crowns onto shrink plastic, shrunk it and then coloured them with a clear star gel pen. I then stamped, cut out and coloured the lady stamp which comes from the Sam Poole Artful Ladies stamp plate. I adhered her to the tag and attached one of the shrunk crowns onto her head. The other went around the hole in the top of the tag.  I stamped the sentiment from the if the crown fits plate onto white card and cut it out, inking the edges too. I cut out each individual word to help it fit onto the tag.

More Creative Expressions projects next week.

Creative Expressions

The weeks are flying by, I can't believe it's time for another Creative Expressions project but it is!!

So today I made 3 ATCs using canvas, acetate and the gorgeous Heartfelt Creations Medalion set.

I first clear embossed the smaller images onto each of the cards, they are canvas ATC blanks. I then went over each one with TH distress inks and then with a darker shade around the edges. I then cut out the heat resistant acetate to fit around the ATCs making sure I cut them a bit larger so I could dome them. I stamped out the larger images onto each one with an embossing ink and then heated with a white embossing powder. I did the same for the sentiments which are from the Let it snow stamp plate. Then adhere each side to the back side of the ATC making sure you leave a dome effect in the middle. I really love the look of the medalions in white.
I was thinking that maybe you could make these as tree ornaments too. Just add a hole and some ribbon, you could even add a little glitter for the tree lights to dance off.

I''ll be bringing you more Creative Expressions projects next week.

Have a good weekend.

Let it snow

Morning, wet and wild here this morning!! Today I'd like to show you my Creative Expressions DT project using the gorgeous Creative Expressions unmounted Let it snow stamp set.

Here's the finished card and I have made a little tutorial for you too, hope it's helpful in some way!!

Put some Faded Jeans distress ink onto your craft sheet and spritz with a little water. Using a slightly smaller piece of watercolour paper than your blank card, smoosh it through the ink.

Lay down some Dusty concorde distress ink onto the craft sheet and using a scrunged up piece of cling film apply the ink to the paper randomly. Next "splat" straight onto the card with picket fence and victorian velvet distress stains.

Take the holly stamp and stamp two images in the left top and right bottom corner with Adirondak berry purple ink.

On a piece of watercolour paper stamp out the snowman in Faded Jeans distress ink and using a watercolour brush , paint in some shadow using the ink from the outline. Ink the edges of the paper too.

Take some crystal stickles and apply to all the "swirly" bits on the snowman and a little to his shadow on the floor.

Paint around the snowman with Distress Crackle Paint. I had some hard bits around the lid so I used them along the bottom of the image. Set aside and let dry.

Stamp out two of the holly images onto Kraft paper with faded jeans distress ink and cut out just the berries and leaves.

Appy peeled paint distress stickles to the leaves.

Colour in the berries with a red pen and then appyly glossy accents

Stamp the let it snow sentiment along a piece of white cardstock with the faded jeans distress ink.Adhere to a slightly smaller strip of Kraft paper.
.

To finish the card, adhere the inked watercolour paper to the blank card. Adhere the sentiment and place the image slightly over the sentiment strip using 3D pads. Now place the holly over the inked images of the holly using 3D pads.

Another Xmas card made!!

Fab News - Creative Expressions Project Book

I had a lovely surprise pop through my letterbox today the brand spanking new Creative Expressions Project Book and...................... I have a project in it. Chuffed to bits I am. It's absolutely stunning and nothing like there is on the market at the moment, no adverts too.

Great designers , Hels Sheridan, Sam Poole, Sue Wilson to name a few. It's a lovely coffee table book , glossy and the photography is stunning. I couldn't believe the price either £4.99 and I know the usual mags are this much, but I think this is so much more.

I can't show you my article as I don't want to spoil it for anyone as the book has only just gone on sale.
I hope lots of people buy it and I'd love your feedback.

Countdown Calendars

Monday rolls around again but as it's grey and dreary outside I stayed in and made something nice for the kids. You know how you buy the advent calendars from the shops and you end up trying to fish out the nasty tasting chocs that have slipped to the bottom ? Well this year no more!!! I've made these with a Lori Whitlock countdown calendar file. They are by no means perfect but I did learn alot about my Cameo in making them.

Robbyn's

Tyrrell's

I've used First Edition papers as some have glitter and some are embossed. Of course I had to do my normal thing and ink around the edges with distress ink.

Hope the kids like them , it's a surprise for them.

Card Makin Mamas - Thank you & Mojo Monday

Friday again?! :0) I've not bought a single Xmas pressie yet, me thinks there might be a bit of a panice very soon!!
Onto today's Card Makin Mamas challenge and the theme is

Thanksgiving/Thank you

I've also followed the sketch for the  Mojo Monday challenge blog

I got a bit of a bargain at the SECC. I picked up a 12x12 First Edition Animal Antics paper pad for a fiver. I've picked out all the generic papers for my card, most have like animals on. I've stitched around them with a turquoise thread. The image is a Magnolia stamp and she's been coloured with Copics. The sentiment is from Lily of the Valley and the flower is punched from 2 Tonic punches.

This week CMM is sponsored by Digi My World, so the prize will be a digi bundle from them. My teamies have done some great cards , mostly thanksgiving as they are from USA. Please go over and take a look and join in with us. You have plenty of time as this challenge is running for 3 weeks as it's a busy time in the US right now.

Cute Card Thursday

Another Thursday rolls round, how quick??? This week's theme is a lovely sketch on Cute Card Thursday.

Sketch

Here's my card

Now I wouldn't have picked these sort of papers but...... when I went into WHSmith I saw this mag set called Molly Blooms Carnival and do you know what caught my eye??? The bow with the button and jute!! So I had a go and I think it looks quite folksy? I stitched around the papers as I do :0) and also added red gems and some corners that I cut out with my Cameo. The image is coloured with Copics.

You can turn the sketch , add whatever do what you will with it as the other DT girls have done. They have made some fab cards again this week. You can see them all on the CCT blog. Hope to see you join in.

Deck the halls

Morning on a wet and wild morning!! Just took Milly out and nearly got blown away!!
Today I'd like to show you my Creative Expressions DT project for this week.

A bit of a different style from me but I was quite pleased with how it turned out. I kinda took the photo at an odd angle because I wanted to show the shimmer on the card. It is all one shade over the card!!

I took a piece of black textured card and versamarked it all over and then brushed over 2 colours of mica powders.  I then stamped out the beautiful snowflake bauble from the Heartfelt Ornamental Medallion stamp set randomly with versamark and then used white embossing powder. Because the versamark was still wet the powder sprinkled a bit but I think it looks ok as it looks like fine snow. Next I stamped out some of the more solid snowflake stamps onto black card with versamark and then used the white embossing powder. I cut around them and poked a small hole in the top of each of them. I then threaded through some twine and added a blue bow to each. I then just hung them from the top of the card. The sentiment is from the Let it snow stamp set and I've just done the same , stamped onto black card and embossed with white embossing powder.

Don't forget to check out the other DT girls projects, all stunning!! I'll be showing you more from Creative Expressions next week.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Wow another post from me today, what's the matter with me?? It's pouring down and gloomy so what better way to cheer yourself up than going into your craftroom and playing.
I still have goodies left from the SECC that I haven't used yet so wanted to use a particular stamp that I love.
This card is for the Papertake Weekly Challenge. Here's the sketch

sketch #73

And here's my card

Image: Gorjuss - The white rabbit
Sentiment: Sam Pooles Art Sayings
Papers: Theresa Collins - Now and Then
Butterfly strip: Crafty Too washi tape
Clock hand dies: Cameo
Flowers: Tonic punch
Leaves: Martha Stewart punch
Pearls, silver findings from my stash

I have stitched around the papers. The flowers are punched with a Tonic punch, I've punched out 5 of them and glued them into layers curling as I go. I distress inked them around the edges. I'm not 100% happy with my technique yet but practise makes perfect!!

Creative Expressions monthly DT project

Another Friday comes along and I can't believe this time last week I was on the train to SECC. It's gone so quick!!

This month the Creative Expressions DT were lucky enough to receive 2 stamp sets to play with, The Heartfelt Ornament Medallion set and The Let it Snow set.
I've used a bit of both this week.

So I cut a tag on my Cameo with the Inkessentials speciality stamping paper. I then used Tim Holtz distress inks to colour the blank tag, just rubbing them over with a blending tool. You can't really see in the pic but I then inked up one of the ornaments from the Heartfelt ornament medallion set with versamark and stamped randomly over the tag adding clear embossing powder. I love the flourish on Sam Poole's Art ladies , so I stamped that in black again randomly.
The reindeer and sentiment from the Let it snow set were stamped onto an old book page with versamark and white embossing powder. I tore around the images and added some gold pen around the outlines. I adhered them with 3D pads. To outline the actual tag I used versamark and a detail gold embossing powder. I then added a jingle bell, which was silver so I used the detail gold embossing powder to cover it. A ribbon was added and voila that's it!!

Hope you like my tag, I'll be back next week with my next Creative Expressions DT project.
