Love Notes Gift Box

love notes valentines day card idea

Today I’d like to show you a tutorial for a Valentine’s gift for that someone special. It’s a Love Notes gift box. I made this for the Papermill blog here.
I cut my box on my Cameo using a file from the Sil store by Jamie Cripps, but I’m sure there would be templates on the internet for this type of box for you to hand cut.

I’ve used Papermill white plain card for the main box.

I then decorated the front and lid of my box with some patterned paper and inked around the edges.

Cut out some little cards, again I’ve used my Cameo but these are easily cut by hand. I’ve used Papermill Ruby Red card. I’m showing you four but you can easily get lots more in the box.

Next I used some more patterned paper to cover the cards and inked the edges and then used the little punch out hearts to decorate.

I’ve stamped some little sentiments onto the cards using some Ali Edwards stamps. I left enough room for a personal handwritten note too.

For the embellishment at the front I cut out a scalloped circle and heart. I used some frantage to sprinkle over the heart and inked the edges of the circle.

To finish off I’ve added a little bow and some heart ribbon. And there you go a lovely little personal love note gift box.
Happy Valentines!

Valentine's box for Cute Card Thursday

Doh I was supposed to show this for my DT project for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge but got over excited and posted it early.
The theme at Cute Card Thursday is

 Love Struck

The prize this week is a £10 gift voucher from Bunny Zoe's Crafts.

Today I have a little Valentine's box to show you. I think I will give one to each of my younger kids with a little message inside.

You could add chocolates, messages, jewellery etc.

I've used Papermill cardstock, this really does cut beautifully on the Cameo and I've never had any trouble with it. The box file is in the Silhouette store by Lori Whitlock. The sentiment is cut from Vinyl and is also in the store and the designer is Kolette Hall. I put  the waste hearts from the box inside with a little tissue paper. I've also inked around the edges with distress ink.

Polkadoodles Challenge

Another Friday morning and of course it's time for the Polkadoodles challenge. The theme this week was set by Norine and she chose the theme of

Quick and Simple Valentine's Card

My card is very quick and simple. I used the Buster template from the Paper Boutique 3 CD and papers from the Sugar Birdies CD. I printed him out and added some glossy accents to his eyes and nose. Then I just added a ribbon, decorative border and sentiment to his coat.

Nikky has been very generous this week and offered up a free digi stamp which you MUST use for your challenge card. It's a beautiful stamp to inspire you to make your own Valentine's cards.

So I hope you will join us in our Valentine's challenge and I look forward to seeing your work with the digistamp.
