Unity & Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Today's card is a mixed media card. I decided to get messy and make my own background as the theme for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Distress It. And I've used the new Unity Stamp Company's August Uniquely Unity stamp kit.

Paints: DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics
Modelling paste: DecoArt Media
Stamps & Stencils: From my stash (I've got rid of labels)
Sentiment: Unity Stamp Company - August Uniquely Unity

A bit of Unity hotness :0)

Just a fun card for today.

I've used lots of Unity sets/kits for this card.

                   Sentiment Kit - Frankly Said
Sentiment Kit - I Want You To Know
Jolande & Marlene set - Vibes

  1. So first I cut a layer slightly smaller than the base card in a kraft linen card and clear embossed the square stamp from the Vibes set and adhered it to the base card.
  2. I then took a piece of white linen card slightly smaller than the kraft card and watercoloured a background onto it in browns and blues.
  3. I stamped the same vibes stamp randomly over the background using a distress ink in vintage photo. In black ink I stamped the text stamp from the I want you to know sentiment kit randomly too.
  4. The hey stud image and hotness sentiment were stamped onto white linen with black ink and clear embossed. The hey stud image has been coloured with copics and then cut out leaving a little border. I then used the vintage photo around the edges.
  5. The hotness sentiment was layered onto a piece of the kraft linen card.
  6. I then stamped out the washi tape in black ink and adhered it to the card.
  7. Lastly I adhered the watercoloured background onto the kraft with 3D tape.
A great fun masculine card!

Unity Stamps - August SMAK

This month's SMAK kit from Unity Stamp Company is called "Stories To Tell".

                                              SMAK Kit

For my card I have cut out hearts from the image using a die . I fussy cut the butterflies. The stitching was quite a challenge though as Ash our cat wanted to play with the sewing machine.

Stamps: Unity Stamp Company - August SMAK
Dies: Sizzix Bigz - Primitive Hearts, Sizzix Thinlits - Sentiments & Sizzix Thinlits - Mixed Media #3

Unity Stamps - August KOTM

Here's another card using the Unity Stamp Company's August KOTM.

                                                Kit of the Month

I've coloured the image with Prismacolour pencils this time with a little white pen to highlight some areas.
For the background paper I took a piece of patterned paper and stencilled onto it. I did this by die cutting a Sizzix Mixed Media #2 die and then using it as a stencil.

Stamps: Unity Stamps - August KOTM
Papers: Teresa Collins - Everyday Moments
Ink: TH Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers

Bright Chameleon!

I've joined in with two challenges for this card the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the theme is "Make your own background" and the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is "Anything Goes".
So I've used the paint stripes in the Clearly Besotted - Colour Chameleon stamp set and some SU ink pads to create the background. I've also "splashed" some of the inks mixed with water onto the stripes.
I coloured the images using the SU inks and a watercolour pen.

Stamp sets: Clearly Besotted - Colour Chameleon
                    Mama Elephant - Agenda Frames
Clearly Besotted - Sweet Little Sentiments
Inks: Stampin Up - Coral Calypso, Lemon Lime Twist & Bermuda Bay
