I've made the background using Oxide Inks, paints and lots of stamps.
I stamped the sentiment and main image onto white tissue paper and then used a matte medium to adhere it to the background. To make it into a card I layered the main section onto contrasting card and then onto a blank white card.
I started off with a piece of white linen cardstock, just for more texture. For the background I gessoed an area with white gesso. I let that dry and then using modelling paste I stencilled through a splat stencil. I then radomly blended 3 shades of Oxide Inks over the gessoed area.
I then blended the same inks over a large piece of coated board and stamped the images. I also added a little white pen for highlights.
The animals have been stamped onto white card and I've added a little grey and pink copic pen to each along with a white pen highlights.
The drum kit, sentiment and image in the top corner were all stamped with black ink.
I then adhered the board to the card leaving a little gap to show the stamped image underneath.
The little animals were adhered with 3D pads.
I then layered the whole thing onto a piece of black card and layered that onto a blank white card.
I've used the water & ink splat method for the background so I could keep it CAS. The inks are Memento dew drops. They're ideal for this sort of stamping as they come in lots of shades of the same colours.
My background has been made by smooshing a piece of white card over my craft mat. I lay down some Distress Oxide ink in Faded Jeans and then spritzed with water. Then smooshed the card. I cut her out with my Scan n Cut so there's a little border around her. I then coloured her hair and skin with Copics. Her outfit has been paperpieced.

Today's card is quite a big card it's a 7 x 7 as the main image is a BIG stamp. The set is from Unity Stamp Company and is called Colliope and is designed by Donna Downey. It's a great kit to use in your mixed media projects.
I made the background with my Gel Press and Brushos. For the accent pieces I used stencils, paint, stamps, bottle tops, credit card, inks and a white pen.
I watercoloured the girl and paper pieced her top.
I find layering up the main image that is mixed media with black card really makes it pop. So that is what I did and I also layered up the sentiments with black card. The girl and sentiments have been adhered to the card with 3D dots.
Today's card features a kit from Unity Stamp Company called Jen Girl, she's part of the Angie Girl range. And it's in honour of the Scottish schools going back on Tuesday, well mine are anyway! I can't believe it will be there last year ever!
So first I cut a layer slightly smaller than the base card in a kraft linen card and clear embossed the square stamp from the Vibes set and adhered it to the base card.
I then took a piece of white linen card slightly smaller than the kraft card and watercoloured a background onto it in browns and blues.
I stamped the same vibes stamp randomly over the background using a distress ink in vintage photo. In black ink I stamped the text stamp from the I want you to know sentiment kit randomly too.
The hey stud image and hotness sentiment were stamped onto white linen with black ink and clear embossed. The hey stud image has been coloured with copics and then cut out leaving a little border. I then used the vintage photo around the edges.
The hotness sentiment was layered onto a piece of the kraft linen card.
I then stamped out the washi tape in black ink and adhered it to the card.
Lastly I adhered the watercoloured background onto the kraft with 3D tape.
So I've used the paint stripes in the Clearly Besotted - Colour Chameleon stamp set and some SU ink pads to create the background. I've also "splashed" some of the inks mixed with water onto the stripes.
I coloured the images using the SU inks and a watercolour pen.
