A new challenge and I've only just scraped through with it as it closes today! So it's the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. They are asking you for Flower Power!

Out came one of my many Gorjuss girls for this one. I've used Copics for her hair and skin and watercoloured the rest with distress inks.
For the background I used a TH sizzix die to make a stencil and then inked through that. For the leaves and flowers I have inked a piece of white paper and then cut out them out with dies.

Dies: Sizzix Tim Holtz - Mixed media #2
Sizzix Tim Holtz - Holiday Greens
Inks: Distress inks: Peacock Feathers, Shabby Shutters, Vintage Photo & Seedless Preserves

Stamps: Simon Says Stamp - Coffee & Tea
Die: Sizzix Thinlit - Borders

I watercoloured the background using some watercolour paints with a wash. The latticed overlay has been made with a die from a Sizzix thinlit set. It is a small panel so I die cut a square of them with 4 panels. The coffee cup has been coloured with Copics.

Loads of Fun Sparkle Card

Most of the UK have a lovely sunny day but as is usual Scotland is overcast with rain so it's crafting time before I go back to work tomorrow.
And here's my third and final card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

I used a glitter patterned paper for this one. I also used the die cut a bit differently.
I've die cut the basket full of washing die onto the top layer and placed the die which has been paper pieced flat onto the bottom layer.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Loads of Fun
Papers: First Edition - Isabella ( half of the papers have a glitter effect)

Happy Sunday with Sunshine & Rainbows!

The sun is out! Although  it's a bit chilly it's warmer than it has been of late here in Scotland. Today I get a day off work so after all the houseworks been done I'm crafting :0)

So today's card is featuring the Sending Birthday Sunshine & Rainbows set.

Stamp set: Mama Elephant - Rain or Shine
Die: Memory Box - Splashing Puddles

I've used copics to colour the main images. Bit hard to see in the pic but to each raindrop and splash I've added some liquid glass and of course some lovely little white iridescent sequins.

Have a lovely rest of the weekend!

SSS Wednesday Challenge

Lol sorry I'm having so much fun doing the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenges that I have another one , totally different from my last one.

I covered a blank card base with a paper from a MME pad called My Girl.
I've then used an MFT die set called Peek A Boo and used 3D pads to build it up onto the patterned paper.
The images were then stamped with black ink and then I clear embossed over the ink. For me this helps the copics to not bleed so much. Then they were coloured.
I cut them out using my Scan & Cut to get a little border around them.
They were then adhered to the card using 3D pads.
And to finish off I used one of my favourite embellishments , sequins!!!

I hope the weather is better where you are as it's been raining all day here in Scotland!! But at least it's an ideal craft day.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

The new SSS Wednesday Challenge is up and it's Add Some Texture and use Tim Holtz products if you can.

So my card has a lot of texture :0)

To start with I took a piece of white card and using the border die from Tim Holtz Stitched Rectangles and edged it. I then cut out the diamond die from the Tim Holtz Mixed Media die set and used it as a stencil with vintage photo distress ink. The little houses and trees are from Tim Holtz City scape, Surburbia set. I've used lots of textures for these. Cork, metallic card, patterned paper and vellum. Then I layered the whole thing onto a blank Kraft card.

Have a good day!

More from the Unity Stamps April KOTM

So today the weather was so bad and I was off work so what better way to spend the day than crafting :0)
Back to Unity's April Kit Of The Month and this time I used the image of the girl and the eye of the beholder sentiment.
I bought a plain wooden box from The Range for about £1 a few weeks ago. And now I got a chance to use it to make a pretty mixed media box.

(I  had to go outside with the snow coming down to take pics lol)

This is the top of the box.

And here's a side view.

It's amazing what you can make with just a plain wooden box!

Unity Stamps April Kit of the Month

Hey there today's the day for the brand new Unity Kit of the Month for April. It's another stunner!

No automatic alt text available.

Isn't it gorgeous? To start with I've used two images and one sentiment from the kit on just one card. I'm sure I'll be using more in the coming month!
So I made this mixed media card.

I wanted to get lots of texture on this one so I started off with a layer of cork. (lol it was actually a sunny day in Scotland for a change so I got a bit of a shadow). I also cut out a frame with the cork.
I then took some textured cardstock and stencilled the hexagon pattern onto it with some oxide ink.
The actual front panel is greyboard covered in white top layer so it had the ideal surface to use oxide inks on.
I've used a few different stamps on top including the hive image from the KOTM.
The main image was stamped onto white card and inked. I went over the bee with another layer of the inks but I watercoloured with them.
The sentiment was stamped onto white card and edged with oxide inks.
Just a few sequins to finish off.

Look out for more projects featuring the KOTM in the next few days.

Home Plaque

I've been getting back into my mixed media just lately and after the tea bag art I decided to go for something a little bigger so I made a HOME plaque from greyboard.

I gessoed the whole board to start off with to give it a nice white base. This helps the inks to pop more.
I then teared up some patterned papers and randomly adhered them to the board.
Next I added lots of oxide distress inks and used stencils to add a bit of texture along with some white embossing.
I stamped out the houses onto patterned paper and then cut them out. Each window has some glossy accents added.
I then arranged them onto the board.
The tree stamp has been stamped straight onto the board and clear embossed. I then coloured the circles and leaves with copic pens.
The sentiment was stamped onto white card and cut out and edged with distress ink.

Stamps: Unity Stamp Company - What Matters Most
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress & Oxide Inks
