Card Makin Mamas
Time for another challenge from the Card Makin Mamas and this week the theme is
I've used up some scraps of paper from my stash so can't tell you who they are by!! But I've embossed the grey spotty paper. I've also stitched around the edges with a purple thread. The boy is of course from Magnolia. All the die cuts have been cut with my Cameo Silhouette. I've highlighted them with a white pen.
CMM are offering one winner a $5 gift voucher from Digital Delights. The other DT girls have made some really fun Halloween/spooky cards. Pop over and take a look here.

Creative Expressions DT Canvas
Morning time to show my 3rd piece for Creative Expressions and this time along with the Steampunk Christmas set I've made a canvas.
Firstly I sprayed the canvas with red and green spray inks. I then made a stencil using the "25" stamp and used gesso to make the 25 stand out. When they were dry and I went over them with some lipstick red distress ink. I achieved some lovely texture on them this way. I stamped the bird and light bulb bloom onto acetate and coloured the backs with red, green and gold perfect pearls then adhered them to the canvas. Next came some clear embossing powder mixed with frantage copper fragments around the edges.I decided I didn't want to waste the actual cut out from the 25 stencil so I put that over one of the gesso 25's and added a little gold pen. I stamped up a cog with black ink and randomly stamped it over the canvas. Finally I added gold pen around the edges, bird and bloom and splattered a little onto the canvas.
Don't forget to go over to the Creative Expressions news blog as we are currently showing a meet the team blog post once a week. Also we have a facebook page where we show all the DT projects. They really are amazing.

Creative Expressions 2nd DT Card
Afternoon and here is my 2nd post of the day. This time it's for my DT card for Creative Expressions. As you know I picked out the Sam Poole - Steampunk Christmas for my monthly pick so I've put a different slant on the stamps this week.
I was inspired to make this card after seeing a set in Craft Stamper by Sarah Engels-Greer. I loved her 3 cards that she showcased last month.
First I took a 12x12 piece of cardstock by Tim Holtz from the Kraft Resist pad and cut it to make a 6x6 card. I then brushed over a little gesso randomly. Next using the tree stamp from the Sam Poole Steampunk Christmas stamp set I stamped it out using walnut stain distress ink and then I shadow stamped it with another burgundy ink. I then stamped a few cogs out in the same walnut distress ink. A piece of tape washi was put along the bottom. I took a kraft tag and stamped out some cogs with distress ink and then let it dry. I then stamped out some more cogs and embossed them with clear powder. I then ripped it in half. I did the same with the sentiment and the "25" but using a burgundy ink and edging with the walnut. Next I arranged the pieces onto the card and run stitching over them randomly. I then inked and embossed some cogs onto Kraft card and cut them out and arranged them on the page. Finally I added the twine.
Come back next week to see what I create using Steampunk Christmas again.
