A bit of Tri Fold Gorjuss

Today's make is a Tri Fold Lace card. It has been cut on my Cameo and is a file by yes you guessed it Lori Whitlock. Yesterday the new files came out in the Sil shop and this is just one of them that caught my eye. There are also three other styles in the tri fold card range too, all avialable from Lori's store of the Sil store.
I've cut it with Papermill Direct white linen card, my fav card to use with my Cameo and Explore.

This is the card closed , it is held together with a little band.

And here it is open.

Cut file - Lori Whitlock - Tri Fold Card - Lace
White linen card - Papermill Direct
Papers - Docraft Capsule - Wild Rose

I've coloured the Gorjuss girl's skin and hair with Shin Han pens.

Docraft Star Decoration

Today's post is another Docrafts product, the Star Decoration XCut die. It's available from the Docrafts online shop here.

It's such a gloomy dull day here in Scotland it was hard to get a good picture but the true colours are the one in the close up.

Sketch Saturday

Today I'm showing my Sketch Saturday challenge card.

I've cut and drawn the base on my Cricut Explore. I've used Papermill plain white card and embossed the base with an embossing folder.

Card: Papermill Plain White
Stamp: Docrafts - Gorjuss - The Black Star
Papers: Papermania Eau De Nil Capsule
Button: Papermania

I have used Shin Han pens to colour her hair and skin and paper pieced everything else.

Decorations from Docrafts.

I was asked by Docrafts to make some projects with some of their products. This is my first project and a little tutorial on how I made them.
I made mine so that they were a Shabby Chic Tea Party style.

And with battery fairy lights in them.

Here are the products I used. You can see all the Docrafts products here at the online shop.

Papermania Capsule Collection - Wild Rose                  Xcut Extra large Christmas Decoration die

Tutorial

  • Die cut two of the decorations. If you use single sided papers then you need to turn one of the papers over to make it an opposite side. Ink all your edges with distress ink. I have used Tim Holtz Vintage Wood.

  • I put in a little brad in the middle, this made it easier for me to weave. Start weaving your decoration under, then over. There are instructions on the packet. You may find your first one a little fiddly but come the second you'll be an old hand at it!:0)

  • When you have weaved it to as tight as you want it ( mine was about 4 rounds), thread some cotton through the top holes using a needle and then knot.

  • Punch or die cut some embellishments. I've used Tonic and Martha Stewart punches. I cut four flowers out of the Wild rose papers so I could make them double sided. I then inked the edges and added a little pink gem. I punched out the butterflies and also inked them.

  • Adhere your embellishments with some strong glue. I have used Collal. I put the flower a little lower down from the top so it wouldn't get in the way of the threaded ribbon.
  • Add your ribbon and lights if required and there you go a great decoration for the house or garden. If you make them with papers remember to bring them in after use or you'll have soggy baubles. If you intend to leave them outside why not try embossed acetate?
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and my shabby chic decorations.
I'll be showing another tutorial with a different die soon.

A bit of Gorjuss

A little bit of Gorjussness today.

On the DoCrafts forum I found a sketch challenge so thought I'd have a go and here is my card.
I have used:

Papers: First Edition - J'adore
Gorjuss stamp: You brought me love.
Happy Birthday sentiment: Drawn on my Cricut Explore.
Frame: Cricut Explore
Ribbon: Gorjuss packaging.

Her dress has been paper pieced with the same papers and I've coloured her with Shin Hans.
Also a sprinkle of frantage was added.
