Creative Expressions

The weeks are flying by, I can't believe it's time for another Creative Expressions project but it is!!

So today I made 3 ATCs using canvas, acetate and the gorgeous Heartfelt Creations Medalion set.

I first clear embossed the smaller images onto each of the cards, they are canvas ATC blanks. I then went over each one with TH distress inks and then with a darker shade around the edges. I then cut out the heat resistant acetate to fit around the ATCs making sure I cut them a bit larger so I could dome them. I stamped out the larger images onto each one with an embossing ink and then heated with a white embossing powder. I did the same for the sentiments which are from the Let it snow stamp plate. Then adhere each side to the back side of the ATC making sure you leave a dome effect in the middle. I really love the look of the medalions in white.
I was thinking that maybe you could make these as tree ornaments too. Just add a hole and some ribbon, you could even add a little glitter for the tree lights to dance off.

I''ll be bringing you more Creative Expressions projects next week.

Have a good weekend.

Cute Card Thursday

Another Thursday rolls round, how quick??? This week's theme is a lovely sketch on Cute Card Thursday.

Sketch

Here's my card

Now I wouldn't have picked these sort of papers but...... when I went into WHSmith I saw this mag set called Molly Blooms Carnival and do you know what caught my eye??? The bow with the button and jute!! So I had a go and I think it looks quite folksy? I stitched around the papers as I do :0) and also added red gems and some corners that I cut out with my Cameo. The image is coloured with Copics.

You can turn the sketch , add whatever do what you will with it as the other DT girls have done. They have made some fab cards again this week. You can see them all on the CCT blog. Hope to see you join in.

Creative Expressions monthly DT project

Another Friday comes along and I can't believe this time last week I was on the train to SECC. It's gone so quick!!

This month the Creative Expressions DT were lucky enough to receive 2 stamp sets to play with, The Heartfelt Ornament Medallion set and The Let it Snow set.
I've used a bit of both this week.

So I cut a tag on my Cameo with the Inkessentials speciality stamping paper. I then used Tim Holtz distress inks to colour the blank tag, just rubbing them over with a blending tool. You can't really see in the pic but I then inked up one of the ornaments from the Heartfelt ornament medallion set with versamark and stamped randomly over the tag adding clear embossing powder. I love the flourish on Sam Poole's Art ladies , so I stamped that in black again randomly.
The reindeer and sentiment from the Let it snow set were stamped onto an old book page with versamark and white embossing powder. I tore around the images and added some gold pen around the outlines. I adhered them with 3D pads. To outline the actual tag I used versamark and a detail gold embossing powder. I then added a jingle bell, which was silver so I used the detail gold embossing powder to cover it. A ribbon was added and voila that's it!!

Hope you like my tag, I'll be back next week with my next Creative Expressions DT project.

Cute Card Thursday

Time for another Cute Card Thursday Challenge and the theme this week is

Christmas in September

OMG don't faint but there is NO stamping on my card!

The papers and chipboard elements are from My Minds Eye and are called Snowed In. I received them free with a mag , I think it was Cardmaking and Papercraft. I'm very naughty I sometimes buy mags just for the freebies only it's not really a freebie to me cos I don't read the mags!!
I distressed the papers and chipboard and stitched around the papers. I then gold embossed around the elements and used some twine to hang the round element. Simple card but with great effect I think.

As always my teamies have made some great cards and you can see them on the CCT blog here. Hope you join in!

I also have some news of Design Teams too, I've made some changes but I will do a post at the weekend to bring you up to date. :0)

Cute Card Thursday

Another post from me today and it's the turn of the Cute Card Thursday challenge card.

The theme is...

Clean & Simple

Love the way this card turned out, not my usual style but I still like it.

I've used a Tatty Bear stamp and coloured his coat and hat with a blue copc. I've used stickles for the bits of fur. Just a sentiment and blue ribbon to finish him off.

The DT girls have made some fab CAS cards, please go over and take a look they are gorgeous!! Hopefully you'll join in with us too!!

Rest of the samples.

Here are the rest of my samples for the Here Comes Christmas CD Rom by Polkadoodles.

Love the colours in this one. The reindeers are a ready made topper on the CD.

When the card was finished I sprayed it with glimmer mist. It gave it a lovely snowy look.

A little penguin easel card.

And last but not least my little gingerbread tag.

Everything has been made using the Here Comes Christmas CD Rom by Polkadoodles.

Polkadoodles Challenge

This is our last Polkadoodle challenge for the year and the theme is

Through the window

I have used mostly Polkadoodle items from the shop.
Image, sentiment and papers:- Sundae of Seasons CD Winter
Window frame:- Kraft paper from the Magical Winter CD part 2
I coloured the images with Copics and added a touch of diamond sprinkles to the trees. The border was punched with a Martha Stewart border punch and the snowflakes are punched with a Karl punch. I added some little gems to the border and snowflakes for a bit of bling.

Because it's our last challenge for the year and it's Christmas, Nikky is offering up a £10 Polkadoodle voucher to one lucky random winner! So it's well worth going over to the Polkadoodle challenge blog and entering your through the window creation. Don't forget to take a look at the other DT's work, amazing as always!!
